The course of action in Shadow Hotel:

1. We send a link

We will send you a link to the virtual meeting room well before we meet. It is easy for everyone to access. We will be ready by phone if there are any unexpected technical problems.

‍2. Investigating the case

Everyone meets virtually in our meeting room, and our officer introduces the case. Separated into minor teams, you will work on the case using clues and the many notes made by the police.

‍3. The case is solved

You work together in the race to solve the case first. After investigating the case, we gather everyone again. The case is reviewed, and the winning team is selected.

Solve a complicated murder case and practise virtual cooperation!

When everyone is present, our officer will introduce everyone to the case and tell them what they have to do. This will take about 8-10 minutes, and it takes place in our police station, which we have set up. The officer is dressed as an officer from ‘The Department of Investigation’.

After the introduction, you will be split into teams. Each team will then be put into its own breakout room, where only the participants in question can communicate with each other. From then on, it is the participant's task to piece together the sequence of events. The teams will continuously receive documents with clues. As an extra cool feature in Shadow Hotel, new information, updates, and clues come to light as breaking news through a LIVE blog in real-time.

During the games, our officer(s) will rotate between the different breakout rooms, visit the teams, and provide assistance if needed.

If you have chosen the Premium edition, then everyone will be gathered in the main room about halfway through. In this scene, you will hear what the Medical Examiner has to say. Afterwards, the teams will be put into their separate breakout rooms once again to put the final pieces together.

At the end, everyone will be gathered again, and the officer will go through the solution and name the winning team. The winning team will receive a printable certificate after the game.

Content in Shadow Hotel

We provide you with a story and continuously release clues throughout the course of the game. An extra feature is our LIVE blog in which new information, updates and clues come to light as breaking news in real time. The game is led from the station HQ by our uniformed officer. The officer introduces you to the case and provides ongoing guidance throughout the investigation.

Everything takes place in our online meeting room and requires no preparation by the participants.

The participants simply need access to a computer with internet access and a webcam.

Editions in Shadow Hotel

We offer the game in 3 different editions: Light, Standard, and Premium.

The Light edition is available for up to 15 participants. The Standard edition is our normal edition. The Premium edition allows you to reflect on the exercise and extend the duration.

The most prominent difference between Standard and Premium is that you get an extra instructor in Premium. If you choose the game ‘Shadow Hotel’, the extra instructor will be a medical examiner.

Shadow Hotel is a fun and entertaining game best suited for teams and businesses that work remotely and need a fun and entertaining break from their everyday life to strengthen their team spirit. It can be used as an alternative teamwork exercise, entertainment for the virtual get-together or a weekday break for those unable to physically meet.

The game is designed for businesses, and the difficulty level is set accordingly.

In Shadow Hotel, the teams compete against each other. Along the way, there are both joint scenes where everyone is gathered at once, and parts during which smaller teams work separately.

A similar game is Flight #CB702, which is structured the same way as Shadow Hotel but instead of investigating a murder case,  the participants must solve a highstakes theft case onboard an airliner.

We use Zoom primarily as the platform for our games. Participants can join via their browser without downloading anything. If you do not have Zoom on your computer, you can access the meeting link by a web browser without downloading anything.
Zoom also provides a series of necessary features during the game, such as breakout rooms, main rooms, team division, etc.   

Depending on the number of participants etc., other platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Webex, or any other platform, can be utilized.

After booking and before your event, you will receive the platform link, which you can share with the participants.

We control the technical aspect of assigning teams to breakout rooms and gathering everyone again.

On the event day, we will open the meeting room well before the game starts so participants can meet and chat together before we start.
The participants will also have a phone number they can call if they, against all expectations, have any technical troubles.

What edition should we choose?
Our standard and premium editions are the most popular, but if you are a smaller team and the event is set to take place at the beginning of the week, the light edition might be the right choice for you.

How do we book?
In the box on the right, choose the edition and a participant interval, then click “Book now.” Then follow the guide. You are always welcome to contact us via mail or by phone.

What is my role after I’ve booked?
After you have booked and before the event, we’ll discuss the practical details, such as number of teams, platform, and so on, with you to secure the details. On the day of the event, you can sit back and enjoy it with everyone else, as we’ll take care of everything.

When will the meeting room open?
We always make sure the meeting room is open long before the game so that you can chat with your colleagues before the event. After the event, we can make you the host so that you can continue chatting after the game.

How do we sort the teams?
We can sort them randomly on the day, or you can sort them beforehand and send them to us, and we’ll place the players into the right teams.

When and how do I pay?
